From 18.10. to 20.10.2023 the BIHK event “Transport policy entrepreneur trip” to Berlin and Leipzig took place.

As part of a three-day transport policy business trip, hosted by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce in Bavaria, Bavarian entrepreneurs from the traffic, transport and logistics industry had the opportunity to exchange ideas with Saxon colleagues in Leipzig, visit logistics companies and in the political Berlin at the parliamentary evening in the Bavarian representation with members of the Bundestag from Bavaria (transport and economic committee) to go into direct exchange and in the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport to receive the latest information on transport infrastructure planning and alternative drives.
The trip started on Wednesday, 18.10.2023 evening with a reception in the Ratskeller zu Leipzig.
Here the Bavarian delegation was welcomed by Dr. Margerl, Managing Director of the Leipzig Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Here, the Bavarian entrepreneurs* had the opportunity to exchange ideas with Saxon colleagues.
Afterwards, the group went to Leipzig Airport, where the DHL hub was visited from 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. and the functioning of this large logistics distribution center was explained and explained.
19.10.2023
The following noon we went to CargoBeamer. Here, the horizontal loading technology between truck and rail was demonstrated.
In the afternoon we took the ICE from Leipzig to Berlin.
At 6:00 p.m. the Parliamentary Evening started in the Bavarian Representation in Berlin with a get together and the reception by the Deputy Director Fr. Dr. Weizendörfer.
In the subsequent round of dialogue, the participants* had the opportunity to discuss current and urgent concerns relating to transport, mobility and logistics with their Member of Parliament from the Transport and Economic Affairs Committee.
This was followed by an impulse from Bernd Reuther, transport policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group, on current transport infrastructure issues.
Before the buffet was served at 9 p.m., the participants had the opportunity to ask the members of parliament questions in a round table discussion.
20.10.2023
From 9.00 – 12.30 today was the visit of the BMDV (Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport).
After a short presentation of the ministry and their working methods, the entrepreneurs had the opportunity to ask the Parliamentary State Secretary Theurer questions on all topics concerning the transport infrastructure and Dr. Haßheider on the topic of “alternative drive systems for trucks”.
The transport policy business trip ended with a joint lunch for all participants.
